Paying with a debit card at Enterprise
- At airports: a debit card is accepted only if you show a ticketed return travel itinerary.
- The name and address on your driving licence must match your current home address. Active-duty military are exempt.
- The branch may ask for more proof, such as two recent utility bills.
- Expect a deposit of $200 to $850 on top of the rental cost, depending on the location and the car.
- Prepaid cards aren't accepted.
- With a debit card, the only extra driver allowed is your spouse or domestic partner.
Renting from Enterprise under 25
Most renters under 25 pay a young renter fee that averages about $25 a day, though it varies by location. Two states set their own rates:
- New York: $68.75 a day for ages 18 to 20, and $33.25 a day for ages 21 to 24.
- Michigan: $34 a day for ages 18 to 20, and $15.50 a day for ages 21 to 24.
US government employees on official orders can rent from age 18.
Cancelling or not turning up
- Pay later: no cancellation fee.
- Prepaid (US and Canada): cancel more than 24 hours ahead and the fee is $50 (CAD $65). Within 24 hours it's $100 (CAD $135).
- Prepaid no-show: you're refunded minus a $100 (CAD $135) fee.
- Booked through another website? Enterprise can't change or cancel it, so the change has to go through the site you booked on.
Tolls
Enterprise offers TollPass to pay tolls electronically, and a convenience fee applies on top of the tolls.
The TollPass fee depends on where you rent. Leave your number and we'll confirm it for your booking.
